Page summary

Most Muslims in India are Sunni. They follow Islamic orthodoxy and seek to please God. But God already loves them and died to save them. “Najma” is one of them.

“Najma” hated Jesus. For years, she watched her mother pray for her Muslim father to turn to Jesus. When he finally did, “Najma” watched as her extended family turned against her parents, abusing them because of their faith.

Her grandmother would beat her mother and burn the Bibles in the house. It hurt “Najma” to see her parents’ pain, and she did not understand why they had to suffer. Jesus was easy to blame – until one night, when the family poisoned “Najma’s” mother.

“Najma” could only watch as her mother shivered, whispering “in the name of Jesus” over and over.

Would “Najma’s” mother survive the attack? How will Jesus teach “Najma” through this? Would her family ever escape the abuse?
